NCBL Week 8 Selected Game Reviews.

Word Up Flava' fans? We're back with some game reviews in week 8 after a quite moment of disappearance by myself. So,let's wait no longer, here's da thoughts of da week.

PEGASUS VS SWOOSH 1

It's a close game, but as expected tat da Supermen will win.& they did. They won 74-69,& put Pegasus out of da top 4 spot in a must-win game for da Flying Horsemen. It is proven tat this season,da 1st division league is far way better than da previous seasons for sure.

Now,we've got 2 teams originated from da 1st division consists of Swoosh 1 & Phantoms (A),& last season's 2nd divisioners both Phoenix & J3 (A).I'm not really sure how's da semis gonna be,but one thing is for sure,it looks like there wunt be another Swoosh-Pegasus Finals this year.Prediction? My vote would be for da Swoosh-Phoenix Finals.

NIRWANA VS J3 (C)

SHOCK-ing defeat?Again?Or is it another expectation that da Bangi Boyz Jr. will win this match? For one,Nirwana had loss twice this season one against BW and makes me think tat "can da Shocks beat higher ranking teams?".They've beaten a merely old-school team of Phantoms (B) last time, but lost to younger teams again, against J3 (C) & BW twice.

So,can Nirwana really prove to us tat they're up for it?Maybe we'll see their true colours in da 2nd round, perhaps.

QUAKES VS CAGERS

In a fight for da perfect spot,Quakes manage to pull off da one match tat they needed to win in order to put themselves in da 2nd round fight.& so they advance. But now,it's an open invitation for da 4th spot,& Cagers is currently still holding on to it.Wit their loss against Quakes,& Arions' win against J3 (B),da ticket for da final spot in da 2nd round is still hanging by da clip.

SNIPERS VS UBSA

Da awaiting game of group B finally ended up with UBSA taking da W back home to Shah Alam, with a huge relief after their first loss against Cagers da previous week before.

Da game was like,a half-by-half game.Wat I meant was tat,UBSA took control of da 1st half, then later on gave away da 2nd half to da Sniperians. But it was a lil' embarrassing as Snipers were shot down wit a 14-1 score during da 1st quarter.Missed shots by missed shots were made,& eventually, like karma situation which I do believe in karma, converted shots by converted shots were done by da Shah Alam Ballerz.

2nd quarter came up,& still no sign by da Shoot-To-Kill team tat looks like they really want it bad to win da match.Loads of threes missed by their original 3pt shooters,& as usual,no rebounds were made by their biggies.Instead,UBSA made it look easy & simple when they ran up da other half of da court, rotating da ball in 4 passes,& were finished up by Kei formerly one of da Flying Horsemen wit few threes by himself.

2nd half looked to be Snipers' game after a few motivation words given by their coach,& it looks promising too.Snipers looks to be more aggressive, faster & more systematic than da first half.UBSA's own Mr.Muscle or was once known as Da Hamster was forced to make 2 offensive errors. One,I didn't realize, but he did make an offensive charge,2nd,he shoved Snipers' Mr.Hustla wit his elbow. With peer pressure put on UBSA's players,Snipers somehow took control of da 3rd quarter, sumthin' like10-9,or a lil' sumthin'-sumthin' like tat.

Da final quarter belongs to da Sniperians too, they fought hard, back & forth da court, fighting against da Shah Alam Ballerz' biggies, but it wasn't enough as da 14-1 scoreline during da 1st quarter proved tat it was a lil' bit too much to chase. It ended up tat UBSA won against da Sniperians wit a 51-35 score.

Da ultimate question is this, did UBSA really count on their biggies tat they won against Snipers but loss to Cagers a week before due to their unattended big men?Well, one thing is for sure for now,UBSA looks like going straight to da quarters without having to bust their arses in da 2nd round.Anyways, both team played strongly and equally, only tat,UBSA were much better tat moment.

TITANS VS SWOOSH 2

Another shocking defeat for Swoosh 2?Or more to an expected loss?Well, like Mr.Downtown said,Swoosh 2 is a team tat is hunger for a win,but eventually,da outcome says it vice versa. Some of them wasn't serious about it.& due to tat factor,it looks like Venom can still catch up to da 4th spot in group C,provided tat Swoosh 2 lose their final match,& Venom win theirs.Possible?Hey,this is NCBL,Where Drama Happens as quoted by AfiqPG.

So Flava' peeps,we've come to da end of week 8's game reviews.Well, selected ones only. But hey,dun forget,Flava' opens to any of ya'll who loves to blog, write & simply gives their idea to me.Just send it to daredevil_309@hotmail.com & i'll post it here, where da Originals Come From, til' then,Word Up!!

NCBL Week 8 Previews (Division 2 - Group C).

NC fans, like group A,group C is juz merely da same.Easy to predict on who's goin to da 2nd round,& who's gonna be in da bottom. But,juz for da entertainment,Flava's gonna do evrything for ya'll,so heads up.

PRINZE VS VENOM

Prinze is totally a weak team.I ave no rejection upon wat Mr.RPK said tat there should be a 3rd division for them.Anyways,i'm not really a Venom fan,but indeed, should be an easy win for them.

RUDDERS VS FENRIR

Well, not much of saying needed to be said, let's juz watch this one for da sake of all NC Community.

HURRICANES VS D'FLIPSE

It is really obvious tat Hurricanes surely gonna win,but say they loose to D'Flipse which is impossible,& Swoosh 2 fumbles later on,we might see tat D'Flipse are in da top 4 finish.Tat too, depends on Venom's match as well.

TITANS VS SWOOSH 2

It's juz another fight-for-da-top 4 matches. But things might get kinky if Swoosh 2 loose this match as they will give Venom & D'Flipse an opening to da no.4 spot.I've never seen Titans played before,so I cudn't say much bout them. But it seems tat Swoosh 2 has more quality then they do.

So NC fans, there u ave it.All previews of all matches in week 8.So,ya'll wanna prove me wrong?U gotta watch da matches & feel da NC Ball excitement.Til' then,Word Up!!

NCBL Week 8 Previews (Division 2 - Group B).

Heads up NC fans,we're now in group B previews of all matches.Ya' see, group B has been categorized as da "Kick Arse" group of tis season as all teams well, most of them are fighting for da top 4 finish.& now,we're all in da final 2 matches before da long break is coming.Basically, all matches are related to one another. So sit down, relax, breathe in,now read.

QUAKES VS CAGERS

A flop by Quakes might lead to Cagers' no.1 spot extension for sure and giving Arions da chance to silently grab da 4th spot.A downturn by Cagers might give either da Sniperians or da Shah Alam Ballerz da lead back to da top,& Quakes' guarantee of advancing to da 2nd round.Fun to watch? It's gonna be exciting.

SLASHERS VS BANTURAZ

Well, after 7 matches, rumors & news regarding da Boyz from Bandar Tun Razak which is why they call themselves Banturaz,I can say tat maybe, juz maybe,Banturaz is lack of quality players,& da weakest in da group.I'm sure Slashers can pull off this one though I doubt tat it will be easy.

UBSA VS SNIPERS

As most of ya'll heard,UBSA loss to Cagers last week.Yup,they loss. So,this sparked questions among da UBSA fans yup, they've got fans tat "does UBSA only relies on their biggies?" Last week,as I heard, only Mr.Axe made it to da Cagers match. While da rest of da team were only consist of Guard-position players.

Whereas for da Sniperians, they won against Banturaz last week,& slowly they are catching up da race to da no.1 spot.Well,I can guez tat Snipers' line-ups wunt be enough da usual 12 players tat is but as i'm concern, they played their hearts out.Only tat, some say tat they lack of quality on which terms I do not noe.

Anyways, like during da UiTM MB Cup,Snipers met with da home team of UiTM MASSUM players.& for tat,Snipers was labeled as da "younger sibling" of UiTM's basketball team da fact is,they're not as all of their players are studying in UiTM.And now,da same situation, where UBSA consist of players from Shah Alam except their pet Panda and 1 or 2 of them as so do da Sniperians too.

Watever it is,this is da epic battle of group B,where most of them will witness da final showdown of who's goin to grab da free ticket to da quarter-finals.

ARIONS VS j3 (B)

Well, easy to say,J3 (B) is already at da no.7 spot,so it's gonna be a lil' hard for them to catch up to da 4th.But for Arions, there's still hope. All they have to do,is beat J3 (B),& hope tat Quakes will stumble in their match,& win their final match next week.Easy math rite?

ARCHERS VS K-2

Prepare da target,as Archers are ready wit their bow.But tat wun't stop K-2 from firing back rite at them too. It's juz something to do wit proving which team is better, tat's all.

NCBL Week 8 Previews (Division 2 - Group A).

We're still on Flava' fans. We're into division 2's group A matches,so stick wit it ayte.

NIRWANA VS J3 (C),PHANTOMS (B) VS SOULSPEED,BULLETS VS BW

It's funny how we see things in group A as all 4 teams of da Shocks,J3 (C),BW & Phantoms (B) are already in da 2nd round. All tat matters is now, they're battling for da no.1 spot in group A for sure.Regardless they loss in their final 2 matches,da Malaya Titans wun't be able to catch up no more.

MALAYA TITANS VS JUMP

I noe tat Jump has been struggling all season long, but I would love to watch da Jumpers beat da crap out of da Arrogant Ones for gud.Is tat possible?Well, anythin's possible.

NEXT VS GRIFFIN

An already well known result?Yup,it's gonna be Griffin alrite.Unless, another walk over happens again.

NCBL Week 8 Previews (Division 1).

Word Up NC fans? We're down to our final 2 games rite? of da grouping segment for both divisions. So,wat's up for grab?Let's get it on wit it.

PHOENIX VS COCORO

Da Flaming Birds are almost there to reach da semi spot.Juz another win,& they should be relief tat they're already in da semis. But things dun look gud for Cocoro.Well,a win might give them another seat for next season's division 1 actions, but a loss would cost them dearly as they're closing towards da exit to da 2nd Division's door.

ATM VS J3 (A)

Can I say tat it's another showdown of last season's 2nd division semi-finals?Could be.If i'm not mistaken,da Bangi Boyz loss to da Terminators tat time.& this season,J3 (A) is fighting for a top 4 finish in da 1st division duel.Whereas for da Terminators, well, sorry to say folks,u guys are gonna get plenty of action in da 2nd division next season.

PHANTOMS (A) VS FLAMES

It looks like da Phenoms are already cruising to da top 4.Only tat, they juz need to secure it by winning against Flames.& Flames are looking to avoid relegation for sure.In order to do tat, they must first win in this battle,& pray high tat both Cons & Cocoro loss to their own matches.

CONS VS SCOREKEYS

Jeopardy indeed. Both teams eagerly need a win in their matches.Da Scoring Monkeys needed so badly a win for them to climb up from da bottom 3,so as Cons.Either way,tis will be like those EPL bottom 3 matches, interesting to watch, but sadly to hear.

SWOOSH 1 VS PEGASUS

Da match of da week.Another sort of "Finals" showdown, only different is,it's sort of a must-win match for da Flying Horsemen.Remember tat their match against J3 (A) happened to be a walk-off?& they loss to Phoenix last week too. Now,they're at da 5th spot, with Swoosh 1 to play.Say if J3 (A) win their match,& Pegasus loss tis one, then we'll witness changes in da faces of Division 1 for sure.Tat could be interesting, cuz Swoosh 1 recently won da UiTM Cup,& things look a lil' dim for Pegasus.

Eager for more NC fans?Flava's gonna give u more.Wait for it ayte.

NCBL Week 7 Quick Preview (Division 1).

Down to da ending of this week's preview, not much interesting game this week from da Division 1 teams, but still, there's more entertainment.

SWOOSH 1 VS FLAMES

This game should start at 2.15 pm.& as I would like to say to myself over & over again,Swoosh 1 is sure running for da finals of da UiTM Cup tournament.& da Finals is scheduled in da evening around 5 or 6,or so,on da same day.Wat will this outcome be?Hmmm,I'd think tat half of them will be at NCBL,da other half will be for da Finals.

But one thing's for sure, any late comers will sure cost them dear points.Remember wat happened to Pegasus during in week 6?Yerp,we might see another humiliating walkover if Swoosh 1's NCBL-half comes late again.& i'm sure Flames would love tat too happen to survive this season rite?Guess.

PHOENIX VS PEGASUS

Da most interesting match of da evening. But,if Pegasus runs through into da UiTM Cup finals too, things might look kinky for them as well.Watever it is,this NCBL match up should be interesting as Pegasus look to climb back to da top again, whereas Phoenix is looking for their comfort zone this week.

SCOREKEYS VS ATM

"I'll be back".Yerp,Terminators love tat line.ATM nearly cost Swoosh 1 their precious points during in week 6,& it looks like they have da God of War momentum on their side now. Will Scorekeys able to pull of this one?Well then,we shall see.

CONS VS PHANTOMS (A)

Loosing players is their main trouble this season?Tat shouldn't be an excuse for Cons as they were once a team to beat few years ago. But,surely now, things look shaky for them as they're facing da younger & hungrier Phenoms this week.

But this should be interesting too.Phantoms (A) very own Center,Edika,is in action wit da KL Dragons rite?Yerp,ya'll heard me.He's now a Dragoneers too. So,who would step up for them? We'll see.

COCORO VS J3 (A)

Da Bangi Boyz's eldest team is surely chasing da top 4 finish.& they should do it by eliminating Cocoro.Whereas for Cocoro, they are fighting for another action in 1st Division next season.Money on J3?Yerp,tat's for sure.

So Flava' fans, tat's it from me for da previews of this week.Bare in mind,i'm not well,so I can't do reviews for any games ayte.Cuz i'm out of action for couple of weeks for sure. So,go ahead & send in ur own reviews to daredevil_309@hotmail.com ayte.& as usual, dun forget to check on Check The Ball,Please! or www.pemainbolakeranjang.com for more news & updates.Til' then,Word Up!!

NCBL Week 7 Quick Preview (Division 2 - Group C).

Closing in da finishing line of 2nd Division,we're now into group C where most games are easy to predict.

HURRICANES VS RUDDERS

I'd be dead hanging if Hurricanes loss this one.But hey, this is NCBL,Where Drama Happens.

PRINZE VS SWOOSH 2

Prinze looks like being da pauper for sure.I'd say, though Swoosh 2 is a lil' veteran-like players, but tat's wat keeping these kind of team names to be feared of.I'd go for Swoosh 2 for da win.

WEMOTOR.COM VS D'FLIPSE

Ironic ain't it?WeMotor.Com?D'Flipse?It's like,da 3 Amigos are gonna run their opponents down so fast, til' they "flip" over not funny though.

VENOM VS TITANS

Surprisingly,Venom is in da UiTM Cup as well.& they manage to advance to da quarters, for real. But,tat is as far as they go.So,any ideas on da outcome of this one's gonna be?I'd say,it's gonna be a 50-50 situation indeed.

NCBL Week 7 Quick Preview (Division 2 - Group B).

Let's cut da crap & hit da tracks ayte?

BANTURAZ VS SNIPERS

Da Shoot-To-Kill team looks more accurate than ever. After involving themselves in da UiTM or so known as MB Cup recently,it looks like they're gonna take Banturaz down with watever it takes.

Banturaz's plays are predicted by others as "non-rotation & predictable" games.Less shots, less ball movement, lack of endurance & trust I guess?Bad factors for them. But still, they could put up a good fight til' da end.But Snipers' hunger-to-win effort looks dangerous too.

They put up a good fight against Swoosh 1,they beat Wasabi & sadly loss to UiTM's MASSUM Team on da last match to determine da quarter-final spot. It's all in da UiTM Cup's match-run.With these factors still fresh in da Sniperians' heads,Banturaz better watch out,it's not da numbers tat count,it's da effort tat takes them further.

J3 (B) VS QUAKES

Quakes loss to UBSA during in week 6,& things look a lil' dangerous for them as they could not afford another loss if they intend on to further their quest towards da 2nd round.& this week, they're up against J3 (B),where da Bangi Boyz is much a threat to every team who wishes to go into da last 16.

K-2 VS ARIONS

K-2,with a win in their hand, still looking for another to boost up their win-loss column, faces Arions this week.Arions is struggling to fight for da top 4 spot, but week by week, their route look easier than any of da team in group B.

SLASHERS VS ARCHERS

We've seen guns vs bows, now ya'll gonna witness da battle between swords & bows.Slashers is a team full of excitement.& looks like they've earned themselves a name tat goes da "Surprising Hoopsters" seriously? for sure.Anyways, both teams are fighting to avoid da bottom of da group,so let's see who's better.

CAGERS VS UBSA

Like all teams, none knows anything about Cagers. They're sure are down-to-Earth type huh? They are slowly chasing for da top 4 finish, but this week, they're up against da Shah Alam Ballerz.Recently,we're seeing a full line-up by da UBSA players.Wit players returning home like Epyn, big guns like Ayie da Bear, their run & gun point guard Muaz, shooters like Panda guez who & Kei,yup,UBSA looks phenomenal indeed.& favourites to win da 2nd Division too.Watch out Cagers.

NCBL Week 7 Quick Preview (Division 2 - Group A).

Word Up NC lovers? It's all quiet now rite?Rite.I'd like to remind ya'll tat i'm a lil' busy, plus,i'm having a terrible week & like no time to update my blog for a while.Yea,fever & works,it dun blend together.Anyways, here's a jiff of a preview for ya'll.

JUMP VS BW

BW,still on a winning run,& they look like still running for it too.Wit a possible boost no,not da chocolate i mentioned da other day by their Center-positioned-player and his first NCBL debut too, things might look much easier for BW to take on da Jumpers.

GRIFFIN VS MALAYA TITANS

I noe all about Malaya Titans' strength & weaknesses, but I'd still like to say,GO GRIFFIN!!

NIRWANA VS BULLETS

Sorry Coach Roach,I really like to say sumthin' more bout Bullets, but urm,ur boys are facing da Shocks tis week.Gud luck for tat.

SOULSPEED VS NEXT

Not much to say,Soulspeed is giving their best this season by the way things go for them.So,urm,Next.

PHANTOMS (B) VS J3 (C)

Phantoms (B),on paper, they've secured their top 4 spot for da second round, but by rights, they are facing da undefeated younger sibling of da Bangi Boyz,J3 (C).J3 (C) looks strong in group A,& they looked like they are hungry for more wins. Can da Dynamic Duo from Phantoms (B) stop their unbeaten streak? We shall see.

Craving for more Flavours?Stay tune for Div.1 & group B & C ayte.

NCBL's 6th Week Review (Selected Games).

Word Up Flavours?A quiet week from Flava' ain't it?Well,it looks like it'll be like this for quite a while due to da starting semester already.I'll be on & off da hook,so if ya'll need entertainment & more details, dun forget to check on www.pemainbolakeranjang.com ayte.

So,i've got few intels during da 6th week of da league.& it wasn't much, but was worth da time.Wat do u expect, cudn't manage to cover up games from early morning til' da end of da day rite? So,here goes nuthin'.

J3 (A) VS PEGASUS

J3 (A) won this game.Surprise rite?Well, surprisingly disappointed. Most people were waiting for good game reviews out of this one.But Pegasus purposelessly blew it out due to late arrivals on da game day.Da game was early in da morning,at 8 o'clock,& Pegasus arrived 20 minutes later after tat.Well,it was too late for sure,so da organizers & officials decided tat Pegasus had to be disqualified and da W was given to J3 (A) for free.

Now,Pegasus has to win their remaining games of da season if they intend to be in da semis along wit Swoosh 1,Phantoms (A) & Phoenix.Juz another loss would jeopardize their chances by giving it to da Bangi Boyz later on tat's for sure.

BENCHWARMERS / BW VS SOULSPEED

BW won da game, but so lil' points on da score sheet.35-33?They were so close on giving away their precious points to da Spirits for nothing & da effects?Their top 4 spot might be taken over by da Malaya Titans which I hope not cuz I hate da Arrogant Ones but luckily,da Malaya Titans loss too to da Phantoms (B) players.Watever it is,BW need to get back their winning altitude if they really want to go home wit pride this season.

PHOENIX VS FLAMES

Like I said during da preview session,Flames did put on a lil' magic show against da young guns from Phoenix.Phoenix won by 62-60,a very close fight til' da end though.Imagine wat will da outcome be if Phoenix loss & Flames won this one.Well,u do da math.

ATM VS SWOOSH 1

Da Terminators nearly shot down da Supermen for sure.Swoosh were leading for da 1st half of da game, but somehow look a lil' lost in da 3rd quarter & giveaway their lead bit by bit.At some point,ATM took da lead from them & it looks like everyone is expecting them to give da season's biggest surprise. But unfortunately,da lead didn't last long as Swoosh gain back their momentum & hop back on da rite track to win da game.

ATM's hard fought display against da Swoosh team might give all of da NC fans & players a lil' sumthin' to notice about.Tat even Men Of Steel can be pierce through if we believe tat they are beatable. So Supermen,ya'll gotta look for each others backs.

UBSA VS QUAKES

UBSA got their winning streak increased to 6-0 by winning against Quakes. This season looks like it belongs to da Baller Boyz from Shah Alam as they are pummeling through every team in da 2nd Division for sure. But juz not yet,as they haven't met other teams like Hurricanes,WeMotor.com,Snipers,Phantoms (B) & others to mention.

SNIPERS VS K-2

Brotherly love another day, knight in a jousting tournament on a game day.Tat's wat happen between da two teams of Snipers & K-2.Juz a brief,K-2 is a part of da Sniperians as well, only tat they are da Old School Sniperians whereas da current Sniperians are da New School team. But regardless da differences, both teams were phenomenal.

Snipers took da lead from da very beginning til' da very end of it.Da player of da game surely goes to B-Joe da Rifle as he collected his first double digit game scoring by pouring in 21 points or so to prove tat he still has wat it takes to bring down Old Gunners.

K-2's Penang & Harmaness tried to bring their team to da winning position, but cudn't so as da Shoot-To-Kill team was juz too strong & too quick for K-2 themselves. With quick-fast-aggressive plays by da Sniperians, they made it look easy & sending a message to da rest of da group B teams tat they are not backing down from a fight. Not just yet.

So Flava' fans, tat's da end of it.Da rest of da games are just so predictable and a straight-result matches.& so juz ya'll noe,NCBL is going to rest this week,& there will be no match going on.But,MBUiTM Cup is up for entertainment for sure.It is held at UiTM's very own Sports Complex. So,if ya'll want to watch da NC players battling out,do so,hit da complex then.Til' then,Word Up!!!

Uruguay vs Netherland preview!

Hey, wat up folks…here are some preview for tonight match that I wanna share with u guys…well, the Oranje might have a chances, but having decided that neither of these teams has any chance of winning the World Cup…LOL…Let’s look at the first semi-final.

Both teams have key players suspended and will be shuffling their deck. Luis Suarez's handball, described by coach Oscar Tabarez as "The hand of God and the Virgin Mary" means he is suspended. Most likely the most-calm penalty taker, the veteran Abreu will conventional forward role. Left-back Jorge Fucile is also suspended; The skipper, Diego Lugano is a major doubt with a knee injury and having said, if he can’t play, there go their spirit. He will be given until the last minute to prove his fitness, but Diego Godin is expected to play in his stead. However, Their coach Oscar Tabarez will have two priorities - firstly to stop Arjen Robben, as Brazil largely did simply by double-teaming him every time he threatened to cut inside from the right onto his left foot. Secondly, he needs his talismanic forward Diego Forlan to create trouble for a potentially shaky Dutch back line that has not yet been tested to the full in this tournament.

the most important thing for the Netherland team to handle is their mentality ahead of this game. they are the choices of many people to win this game, and that should be keep out of their head if they wanna progress...The Dutch have defensive midfield problems with Nigel De Jong suspended, and De Zeeuw is expected to be handed the defensive duties. He will have a busy evening shackling the roaming Diego Forlan. Impressive right-back Gregory van der Wiel picked up his second booking of the tournament against Brazil and sits this one out - Khalid Boulahrouz should come in and this should be a turning point for Uruguay to attack…having said that this player have not shown any tremendous form, well since I can recall… The good news for coach Van Marwijk is that Joris Mathisen is back, having injured himself in the warm-up before the quarter-final. Veteran Andre Ooijer looked a somewhat shaky replacement. The big advantages of Holland is with both Wesley Sneijder and Arjen Robben, they have two of the few big name players to actually turn up to this World Cup, while Mark van Bommel has been a colossus in midfield.

The yellow cards threat is now in effect, so players cannot miss the final through any careless booking or foul play...it might not a semi’s that as we expected or would like to see, but let just enjoy the beauty of the game…bcoz there’s always a drama and big moment in a big tournament…I really love to see Uruguay progress through to the finale, but the Oranje, might be too strong for them…till then, word up!

-football: not so a beautiful sport anymore-

I've just finished watching the most bizarre and extra-ordinary ending of a football match. Ghana missed a penalty with literally the final kick of the match in extra-time, and then proceeded to miss two more and Uruguay advance to the semi-finals.

Penalty shoot-outs are always dramatic. But the circumstances around tonight's were exceptional. A Uruguayan player deliberately handles the ball to prevent a goal being scored. A penalty is awarded, the player is shown a red card. All fair so far. Except the kick is missed, and Uruguay go on to win.

Jump to joyous Uruguayan celebrations, and who is the player being hoisted onto the shoulders of the Uruguay team? Not the goal-keeper or the man who kicked the winning penalty, but the player who committed a deliberate foul and is sent off for cheating.

It's an extra-ordinary picture of what football has become - a sport with not a shred of moral fiber, a sport where cheating pays, and where cheats are celebrated as icons. And it's not just Uruguay - it's Ronaldo, Robben, Drogba, Henry...

Last night match just provided a timely snapshot of a sport that is supposed to be the beautiful game, but is in fact the world's least moral and ethical sport. Cycling takes a lot of criticism for doping, but football doesn't merely condone cheating, it celebrates it. Disgraceful.till then, word up!

big fan of Ghana,

NCBL 6th Week Preview - 2nd Division (Group C)

NC fans,we're at da final group of Division 2's preview.& not much of an interesting matches in group C as we can see da contenders already. But anyways, here's how things go.

TITANS VS PRINZE

Titans, still winning most of their matches, should grab da W against Prinze as Prinze look plain & dull this season.Could be da effects of being relegated I suppose.

SWOOSH 2 VS FENRIR

Surprisingly, last I saw at Check The Ball,Please!,Swoosh 2 was at da 5th or 6th place, somewhere around that.& Fenrir wasn't any bad either. If Swoosh 2 wants to be in da 2nd round competition,it looks like it is a must win for them for sure.

RUDDERS VS WEMOTOR.COM

Erm,any comments anyone? My bet would be on WeMotor.com as usual. Not much to say.

D'FLIPSE VS VENOM

Group C looks like a group where teams are battling only for da 3rd & 4th place u noe.With Hurricanes & WeMotor.com are surely in da 1st & 2nd placing,da 3rd & 4th are open for da likes of D'Flipse,Venom,Swoosh 2 & Titans.This ought to be interesting.

Well Flava' & NC fans,we've come to da end of this weeks preview match-ups.Again,dun forget to check http://www.pemainbolakeranjang.blogspot.com or go to Check The Ball,Please! for more info ayte.Til' then,Word Up folks!!

NCBL 6th Week Preview - 2nd Division (Group B)

We're here for more NC fans.& now,we're into 2nd Division's group B matches.& here how things go.

BANTURAZ VS ARIONS

Judging by how Banturaz is playing, they will need a lot more than juz "Evening Plays" to beat Arions.Though Arions loss last week to da unbeatable Human Victory Cigar as wat AfiqPG quoted but they look eager to win every match they could.Up against Banturaz,Arions should have da chance of an easy win.

QUAKES VS UBSA

Quakes can shake for sure. They loss to Snipers by 4 points,& they are winning da next 4 matches later on.This week, they're biggest task is to overcome da Human Victory Cigar team,UBSA.Some say UBSA is unbeatable, but Slashers proved tat they could be beaten for sure by chasing to only 2 points wit 3 minutes left to play during da Slashers-UBSA duel. So,could we see another surprising loss this week?Or it's juz gonna be another UBSA shout out once again.Watever it is,it's a must watch game for sure.

SLASHERS VS J3 (B)

Slashers,a team full of surprises. They beat Snipers by 7 points,a huge upset for da Sniperians for sure. They nearly beat UBSA,could have been da no.1 NCBL 2010 top moments for sure too.& this week, they're up against J3 (B),who loss to Snipers last week & was nearly beaten to a pulp.J3 (B) is still eager on winning as they look on to finish in da top 4 spot, while Slashers, juz to avoid from being in da bottom,& creating more surprises.I like to see Afro Dude perform in this match for sure.

ARCHERS VS CAGERS

No hope for Archers to be in da top 4 spot, tat's a statement. As for Cagers,it's da first time I watched their game last week,& they too look like a team tat's hard to beat.More trouble for Archers?Yerp, probably.

SNIPERS VS K-2

"Blood is thicker than water".But "winning is sweeter than sugar".This week,it's a duel,a bout between two teams tat came from da same place & birth at da same time. Most of K-2 players came from Snipers themselve, but they evolved into a much aging experience team this season.Whereas for Snipers,it's a much more youthful team and are eager to win this season's league for sure. Conclusion? It's da young vs old, small brother vs big brother,Snipers' own captain KoBron vs K-2's leader Penang,B-Joe da Rifle vs Harman-ness match. It should be interesting.

We're on da verge of ending this week's preview NC fans,so stay tune for Group C's preview ayte.

NCBL 6th Week Preview - 2nd Division (Group A)

Alrite Flava' peeps,we're back again for more previews of upcoming matches in NCBL's 6th week league games. Here are da matches for 2nd Division's Group A.

JUMP VS BULLETS

Intel told me tat Jump beat Next last week rite?Well,da real deal was tat Next could have won da match via disqualification on Jump's team. For wat reason?I dunno, maybe they were late or sumthin, but eventually Next was eager to fight & not wanting da "free win" stats,so they loss.Yes,Jump's first win?Maybe.Could this match be Jump's 2nd?Could.But Bullets have reloaded their ammo as for preparation to shoot down da Jumperz.Who's in favor?I'd say Bullets have da better chances for their 3 point jumpers & speed.

MALAYA TITANS VS PHANTOMS (B)

They could be young and arrogant witout a doubt but they lack of experience. This week,da Malaya Titans are up against da Phenomenal Phantoms (B).Wit Phantoms' very own Dynamic Duo are hot & going, they could beat da crap out of da Malaya Titans.Go Phantoms!!!

BENCHWARMERS / BW VS SOULSPEED

Another unlikely reunion for da BWs.They've met Soulspeed at KLNC tournament early this year or was it last year? and da result?BW won.Soulspeed's line-up looks merely da same,so does BW.But da only difference is,BW looks more prepared whereas Soulspeed's play looks entirely da same.Compliments to BW's coach Mr.Imran da Take & Shoot player from Phantoms (A) himself for polishing da BW players til' who they've become this season.Wit their streak is back to 4-1,it looks like they are still hungry for more.

J3 (C) VS GRIFFIN

J3 (C),still undefeated & looks to be going for da no.1 spot in group A if they can win all their remaining matches to come.Whereas for da Griffindors, their hopes of finishing fourth hasn't faded yet,but they need a lot of convert shots more than just a miracle to beat da Bangi Boyz for sure.

NEXT VS NIRWANA

Nirwana loss surprisingly to BW last week after a huge lead during da 1st half of da game.Problem?Maybe due their confidence although da game hasn't ended yet. This week, they are up against Next formerly known as KJ Riders who I might say is da only team without a win and losses not more than 30 points margin this season in da group A.Result?I'm sure da Shocks can win this one out.

Flavours,stay tune for more ayte.

NCBL 6th Week Preview (1st Division).

Word Up Flava's truly? We're back for da 6th week preview of NC Basketball's one & only,National Community Basketball League (NCBL).But let's not be hasty & start wit da 1st division teams ayte?

J3 (A) VS PEGASUS

J3 (A) is out of da top 4?Just not yet. This week, they're up against Pegasus to fight for da top 4 spot.Pegasus, still undefeated in da 1st division league, looks to maintain their streak and ensuring an easy semi-final place later somewhere in August. If J3 looses this one,it's all over for their ending in da top 4 finish.

PHOENIX VS FLAMES

Da Flaming Birds are up against da Fyra of Fury itself. Can Flames use their Fyra 3 Magic remember Final Fantasy? to burn down da consistent team of Phoenix to avoid from relegation?Looks hard, but this is NCBL,Where Drama Happens.

PHANTOMS (A) VS SCOREKEYS

I'd hate to say this but,it looks like a confirmation-relegation spot for da Scoring Monkeys this season.Nothing much by winning against Phantoms (A),but it'll sure give a huge upset & scare for da Phenom Fighters if they lose against Scorekeys as their top 4 spot looks a bit shaky.

ATM VS SWOOSH 1

Never seen before showdown between da Terminators vs Supermen like those DC vs Marvels thing. This could be an easy fight for Swoosh 1 as they too are undefeated, whereas for ATM?Erm,no comment.

COCORO VS CONS

A fight for survival, tat's da real objective for Cons rite now.Cocoro themselves are struggling to avoid relegation this season since they are not consistent enough in their previous matches.Whoever pulls this one, will determine their fate for next season's NCBL for sure.

Tune in for da 2nd Division groups ayte Flavours?

Netherlands vs Brazil Preview…!!

Hye all, here we are again… there is more or less than 24hours from the kick-off for the 1st quarterfinal of WC 2010. Guess wat? It’s a mouth-watering clash between the “orenje” and the team with full of “samba” tradition.

Well, here the five (5) key battles for this match:

Van Persie vs Lucio.
The not in form Dutch strikers could really have been in a big trouble to face the man who lead his teammates to lift the Champion’s League Cup. With the captain armband of his country, I bet Lucio will not give an easy way to Van Persie to threaten his net. He is very strong in the air, have the ability to read the game and also can do a very hard tackle, I mean really hard. He is like a nightmare for every striker, furthermore with his military background. However, Van Persie might not yet to find his form in this tournament, but once he had, even Lucio had to be at his best.

Sneijder vs Gilberto Silva.
There should be sneijder vs Melo at first, but Melo is not fully recovered yet, so I bet the main person who should take a responsibility to guard the engineer of the Dutch team is the aging Gilberto Silva. Wesley Sneijder is a man with full of vision and creativity when he has ball at his feet, and not to forget he also can produced a spectacular goal which he did during the Japan’s game. But in the other hand, Gilberto Silva so far has enjoy this tournament than any other of his mates, he look sharp with his tackle, in fact he also can shoot from a long range. So, Wesley, although I’m not a big fan of Gilberto, I really hope u enjoy the disappointment tomorrow.

Robben vs Maicon/Bastos.
The return of the left-footed Robben at this stage can be very vital for both teams. Why? It’s simple…if Robben play at his very best, then the Dutch should have no problem to progress and vice versa. Instead of sneijder, robben is another engineer for the Dutch but with a different approach. He likes to cut inside and have his typical shot which always produced a brilliant goal, which we saw so many times this season. But hey, don’t forget, he has to face either Maicon or Bastos at the Brazil side. For me, both of these Brazilian fullbacks can’t be pass so easily. I’m pretty confidence that Robben will be start at the right side, to avoid a clash with Maicon(probably the best Brazilian player in this tournament), which mean he had to face Bastos, so, naaahhh…it shall be interesting to see who will win the battle and like the oldies said, the best man win, but according to Mr. C, the best man with luck, win…!

Kaka vs De Jong.
Kaka, the man that have a lot of hopes in his shoulder, and like the other STAR that failed to perform in this tournament, Kaka have no acception. He didn’t score yet, he might assist a couple of Brazil goals, but we all know how wonderful he is when he has got back his touch. However, he is still the golden boy for Dunga because he can always produce a magical moment. Nigel de jong who played for Manchester City is the best candidate to lock this playmaker, like Gilberto Silva, he is very hard player to be faced in the middle of the field, he love to attack the first ball and he also don’t even mind to make a foul or the unnecessary tackle if the ball is away from him. So Kaka, do watch your beautiful leg…ahaks.

Robinho vs Van Bronchost.
Like Kaka, Robinho also the other Star that yet not to fulfill his potential. However, with a wonderful placing goal at last-16, that shall be a turning point for this man. He quick, loves to do it with his own way, and also a very skillful player. With the injury of Elano, Robinho is likely to attack at the right side, so he has to deal with the Dutch skipper which also the aging – Van Bronchost. So far, he is doing pretty well at this tournament and I see no problem for him to battle against Robinho. Just, bring it on.

Well, I really hope that both sides can play a beautiful football and open games so that it can be interesting to watch. For Brazil, the absence of Elano or probably Felipe Melo can be crucial because they already lose Ramires due to suspension…and I really hope that the Dutch can also line-up Van der Vart so it can add the taste of the midfield battle and the versatility or the creativity of the holland’s attacks. Let just hope for the best…and enjoy the football…ohh wait, mr. C prediction –surely a narrow win for the Brazilian. Yieehhaaa...till then, word up!

-Mr.C- ^.^
