World Cup "Fever"?

Word Up Flava' fans?Remember World Cup 2010 : This Time For Africa?Yep,Flava's gonna share a lil' sumthin' wit ya'll about tis.Nah,it ain't about da goals,da winner,da losers or wat so ever.It's juz about one nite,during da grouping stage,da match between Cameroon and Japan.

Ayte,it's not about da stats,or whether Eto'o played badly,or Honda not da car was superb.It's about tis one guy,who was laughing through out da entire game from da start of da match,til' da 90 minutes are up.

It's like tis,Flava' went to tis one stall to have dinner.And while I was eating,coincidently da Japan-Cameroon game started.Not far away from my table were 4 grown ups,watching da game as well,smoking,drinking and,well,apparently were talking about da match as well.

So there I was,monitoring da game and da grown ups too and devouring my dinner.And suddenly,da moment where Honda was tackled by tis one Cameroonian,one of da gramps laugh like he was attacked by hysteria as or sumthin' as if sumone tickled his armpits.I was surprised,and was wondering why da heck did he laugh for?But no matter,I continued watching da match,and still munching my food.

Again,tis time,Eto'o was tackled by Nakamara or sumthin' like tat and again,da gramps laughed.I thought to myself,it's alrite,maybe he was just too excited for no reason.But then again,I was wrong.He laughed,well,like da saying says,"3rd time's da charm".Then I changed my mind about tat guy.

So I thought,"Is he hysterical?","Has he gone mad?","Is tat a hyena sitting on da table?".It's not tat I ave a problem wit people laughing in public,it's juz tat he laughed everytime any player was tackled by another player.Weird rite?Wat is so hilarious about watching players being tackled?Besides than laughing when he stops laughing tat is,he acts like he was Shabby Singh or Martin Tyler from ESPN commentator crews.Criticizing by saying things like "Apa la dok tegolek sini tegolek sana" and like "Bodo,xreti pass btol2 ke" and "Baik aku tengok Liga Malaysia mcm ni".

Pfft,I heard tat,& I laughed myself from da inner side of me.Da point is this folks,first,Liga Malaysia?Dude,even if u give away free tickets there will be very rare chances tat da Liga Malaysia's stadium be filled up wit spectators u noe.Secondly,who da heck he thing he is?No problem if u wanna give ur own opinion,but saying things like tat?Looks like he didn't finish his Bahasa language very well.And thirdly,it's World Cup tubby.They dun play like Malaysian League ayte.It's wat footballers do to get free kicks,actingfall down to da ground.

Anyways,like i've been saying before,I ain't perfect,I ain't a sports journalist or even a commentator,or any criticizer around da globe.I'm not even a professional blogger.But one thing's for sure,I dun compare things tat low when da rate is high,noe wat i'm saying?

So Flava' fans,wat do u tink of tis year's World Cup?Exciting?Disappointing?U decide ayte,but convince me,dun be da guy I've mentioned above ok?It's annoying,& irritating to be honest.Makes me loose my appetite too.Til' then,Word Up!!!

13 It Is.

Word Up Flavours? As of 13th of August 2010,Snipers' very own KoBron had turn 22.And guez wat,they had a heck of a surprise party for him.And it feels like a ghetto nite after a training session at our very own BJ Court da same nite.

It was 12 am,but we had a slight delay waiting for Azri da Siamang Saion and his date partner to come to Khausar's house.Besides,most of us were late,after a heck of 5 on 5 training session,we had to rush back to go and get da stuff.U noe,cake and drinks.But we made it.

As we quietly arrived at Khausar's front door,my guez was tat Mr.Hustla' called her and told her to drag birthday boy out.And as da light flicks on,everybody sang da traditional usual birthday song.Should have seen KoBron's face,haha.

Anyways,we ate,we laughed,we chit & chat til' nearly 2 in da morning,but we sure did had a lot of fun goin on.Anyways,da point here is simple.Though Snipers is kinda a problematic team,but one things for sure,it's alwez been a "Brothers in Arm" hook up for us.Whether it's gud or bad,win or lose,we're alwez there together,well,most of us I'd say.

Above all,Happy Birthday KoBron,this year's 22nd should be a blast for ya'.& be happy with ur gal there,Khausar's a sweet girl I presume,haha and she sure heck cares for ya'.We all do.Til' then,Word Up!!!

Snipers vs Cagers Game Review.

Word Up peepz?It's been a while,yea I noe,quiet and all tat.Hey,dun forget,i'm still a student u noe.So,it's normal if da blog is a lil' silent sumtimes.Anyways,i'd like to post da game review between Snipers and Cagers in da final match in group B,2 weeks ago.So,heads up and sorry for da delay.

First of all,no vids from da game.Somehow da battery was out witout us noticing about it.But da game isn't.Anyways,da Sniperians nearly made an incredible knock-out shock by coming late to da game.Yerp,really late.Da refs gave them another 10 minutes extra "waiting" time while da other 4 Sniperians waited wit anxious.1 minute left,da rest showed up,hora!!! But apparently,da refs gave Cagers a 2 free shot to make a statement,yea,we understood u refs.

So,da 1st quarter began wit a bang.Not a loud one though by da Sniperians.They were trailing 19-9.With emotion of coming late still running around da bench and among da players,Snipers look a lil' lost.But manage to keep up da points.At one point,they were running da court pretty well,but due to Cagers' extra "3 players" on da court,well,Snipers look like they're out of ammo.

2nd quarter looks da same though as if like 5 Sniperians against 8 Cajunsgers on da court.Foul after foul was called against da Shoot-To-Kill team whereas it was so obvious tat da Cajuns I simply call them Cajun cuz it sounded like Cagers had lesser foul calls against us.With temper on da court,da Sniperians took their rage by chasing in and closing on da gap.

By da time da 1st half is done,Snipers look like they really could shoot down da refs from where they sat.But no matter,they regroup themselves,wit gud motivation and wisdom words by Nazim Hero Remaja,Mr. Muscle's "main je" phrase,and encouragement by their team captain KoBron,they played like there's no next season for them.

During da 3rd,it showed that Snipers isn't a team tat relies on their 1st five only cuz they proved that even da bench can contribute and kick arses too.Wave after wave of hustling by both Mr.Hustla' and Man Ayam Kampung,with a lil' help with brave penetration by B-Joe,they manage to keep their score-chasing game intact.

On da defensive terms,all da biggy boyz from da Snipers team look formidable as if like da Great Wall of China.Raining blocks by Mr.Muscle,Baby Justin,KoBron and Geck clearly made a statement tat they do not only score,but they can smack tat rock away too.By da end of da 3rd,they tied da game at 39 a piece.

Da final decisive quarter began wit da Sniperians shoot through da so called "solid" Cagers juz because they beat UBSA few weeks before by creating a fastbreak play.From da starting point where they took da lead ever since da 1st quarter,Snipers never look back and keeps on penetrating Cagers' hoop.After a while,they realize tat not even da refs and even da coach can do anything about it TAKE THAT.

As da clock ticks down to zero,Snipers won da game wit pride and proven to da other associates or any bias referees and particularly players tat they're not backing down witout a fight.Besides,Snipers intentionally or unintentionally helped Arions passing through da 2nd round,cuz not all of da teams around here like Cagers anyway.

So,da group stage is over,and Snipers now is officially in da quarterfinals after a lucky draw by da leading team UBSA,and wit a month rest,every team have an ample time to prepare,& train for more excitement to come.Anyways,time for da Playoffs.So NC fans,ya'll gotta wait for it ayte,in da mean time,Selamat Berpuasa dun cheat on ur fasting month ayte.Til' then,Word Up!!!

6 Champs Again,12 Humiliated.

Word Up basketball fans?As some of ya'll noe it,last week was da week of S.A.F,a short form of Sukan Antara Fakulti,or Inter-Fac for short.& S.A.F for shorter.Anyways,i'm not here to cover up all da sports,& of cuz,as u guez it,i'm here juz to cover my basketball.Yerp.& mostly it'll juz be some & some.

Lets head on to da ladies first.Well,as some  of ya'll noe it,FSR was da defending champ.They won da title a year ago,so I guez some of them thought tat training is not compulsory.Anyways,they passed the test in their group matches where they beat APB wit a large margin,36-0,& they beat FSPU 12-6.

Although they were nearly beaten by FSPU when they were down 3-0 heck scared da hell out of me,but fortunately,they got back their composure,& put up a gud fight.Eventually,they won.

After da draw,da ladies were lucky tat they manage to go through automatically into da quarters sounds familiar rite? & not having to bust their arses in da 2nd round.So,a night's rest,& in da quarters,they met FPM.A faculty from Puncak Perdana they came all da way to Shah Alam? as I heard.

Well,during da time before da quarter-final match started,they were all prepared.Warm ups,they did some warm up shots,free throws,lay ups.But guez wat?They got beaten like first timers or more like someone who doesn't know anything at all by da FPM gals.Imagine this,they were leading 4-0,& tat's it.& later on,they were trailing 4-12.Da heck?

So,after their loss,they had a lil' discussion among themselves.& here's some of it tat they manage to list out:

1) They didn't understand how da defence goes ordered by their coach.

2) They couldn't play wit other teammates or easy to say 'tak ngam / tak leh masok' or they dun ave da connection between them.

3) Coach's mistake.

4) Other player's mistake,not individually.

It's not tat hard to tell.Flava's not saying tat all of them were bad,out of 12 of them,maybe 3 of da players do not realize their own mistake superstar rank I guez.Let us revise shall we?Here are da things tat they should have realized a month ago before whining like a cry baby:

1) When they are called for training,da number of players attented never even reached da number 5.They'll juz ave excuses.Even during Saturday mornings and Thursday nights when they dun ave any classes bugger ain't it?.

2) Let us see,when u are a player in a team,watever ur coach says,u do it.Listen,adapt & perform instead of whining yada yada cuz it's not tat hard.

3) Some coaches can accept criticism,cuz it makes them to become better each & everyday.But when u think tat ur a superstar beyond & above ur teammates' level,tat's why u can't play wit da rest of ur teammates.Think ur better?Go ahead for an individual sports.Cuz as far as i'm concern,basketball is a team sport.

4) Last but not least,da ladies lack of chemistry & trust among themselves.Due to?Easy,refer back to da words I've been repeating over & over again,self-thinking superstar.

Like da title said,12 humiliated.Yup,all of them were.Yet,da boys made it all da way,winning all matches in their group stage,passed da 2nd round due to they were a bit unlucky by da draw tat made them in da 2nd round,into da quarter-finals,semis,& finally,take home da gold & pride.

Why did da boys triumph but da ladies fall to their feet?Easy.Though not all da boys knew each other well,but we play cuz we believe in our teammates.No one proclaims to be da superstar of da team.If i'd say tat da great chemistry among us,it's only between da 6 former UiTM Arau players Panje,Ayie da Grizzly Bear,Geck,Kuya,Dowh & Muz da Panda but yet,they can still snatch da gold back to FSR.

How's tat possible without training?Easy,we play,we believe in each other,we trust each other,& most of all,we listen well to our leader / coach.Tat's not even hard to do.

So,wat's da different between da boys & da ladies' FSR basketball team?Well,communication.Tat's just it.Well,tough luck ladies,ya'll better learn to be a good listener instead of being selfish.Again,it's not a teaser to all,only few of it.Anyways,it was a gud week of basketball & for other sports as well.& let's hope tat it'll still be da same wit more improvement for next year ayte?Til' then,Word Up!!!

p.s. - Not to forget,kudos to our 2 hardworking and cute too managers and their crews too.

NCBL Grouping Ends,Here Comes The Real Excitement.

Word Up NC peeps.After a long waiting,we've finally came down to da real excitement part of our very own Amateur League,da National Community Basketball League (NCBL) of 2010.So,all da groupings are done,teams have been drawn,& now,for a lil' sneak preview.

THEY'VE EARNED IT

UBSA,Hurricanes and Phantoms (B) earn their spot automatically in da quarters by staying alive in da 1st spot in their very own respective group.&,tanx to da draw made by UBSA's leader Pao or Paw,not related to any pau kacang or pau kaya or any other pau Snipers too made it to da quarters,directly,& having a tough battle with Cagers in order to maintain their 2nd spot.So,these 4 teams will be waiting for their opponents.Who might tat be?

2nd ROUND MATCHES

SWOOSH 2 VS BW

UBSA might want to watch this match.Cuz Swoosh 2 & BW is,I might say,equal.They've met each other last season,through rough minutes,they were equal,but da last quarter gave away BW's precious win to da more experience team of Swoosh 2.But dun forget,both teams made some new changes in their roster.So,who would it be Shah Alam Ballerz?Pick your favourite.

NIRWANA VS QUAKES

Nirwana,slowly showing their weakness to da very end of da grouping stage.A loss to BW,then to J3 (C),& a mere win against team Jump.Have da Shocks worn down?We will never know.All I know is tat Quakes can be a big threat too.Throughout group B,Quakes have been a tough team to beat,but it seems something is just not right among them.Who knew rite?Anyways,Hurricanes is slowly watching them,& waiting for their next target.

ARIONS VS TITANS

Arions are through to da 2nd round,tanx to a win by Snipers against Cagers,which they gladly did it for them too.So far,Arions is a team tat is not bad either.They have perimeter shooters,& few big guys tat could play along their role.Wat about Titans?Well,they had great battle against Hurricanes,WeMotor.com & Swoosh 2.& was seeing as a big threat to da rest of da 'lacking' teams.So,Phantoms (B),which team would you choose to face with?

J3 (C) VS WEMOTOR.COM

Snipers,sniping around their two potential opponents.Waiting,for either Bangi Boyz Jr. or WeMotor.com to march through da quarters.J3 (C) is a young team,but hunger for more.They've beaten BW,& da used-to-be strong candidate,Nirwana in their group A matches.Same playbook,different kids,same plays,different spirit.Whereas for WeMotor.com,they still have their 3 Amigos with them.So,will it be about da more experience team of WeMotor.com?Or will it be about da youth going through?

NCBL Week 9 Selected Games Preview.

Word Up NC lovers?Sorry for da late previews,but eventually,there's not much of a game to watch in da final week of da grouping stage.So,here goes nuthin'.An actual must watch games,but it turned out tat my link wit my FB account was rather late than usual tat it pop out a day late.So,enjoy!!

J3 (C) VS BW

A game to determine da "securing ticket" part.Well,for those of ya'll who didn't know,da rules & format of da 2nd round has come out.So,go check at www.pemainbolakeranjang.com or Check The Ball,Please! for more info.Anyways,both are on da 15 points clear of da 4th spot,eventually,they both qualified.But in order to have da bitter luck on escaping da 2nd round,one must win & stay on da 2nd seat.So,who might it be?We'll see.

PHOENIX VS SWOOSH 1

KLNC's repeated match.Last time,da Flaming Birds loss to da Supermen by 3 points.Yup,u got tat rite.3 points.Eventually,this will look like da Finals showdown,well,i'm juz predicting anyways.But wun't it be interesting to watch these two teams battling out for da NCBL Title?Damn rite it's gonna be fast & furious juz like da movie itself.

PHANTOMS (A) VS PEGASUS

Da usual showdown since 2005.It's always interesting when we are able to watch da big games.& as far as i'm concern,Phantoms (A) never had a single W in their fight against da Flying Horsemen.But since tat Pegasus failed to qualify and finish for their usual top 4,can this be da moment where Phantoms (A) finally beat them?

SNIPERS VS CAGERS

Da game tat determines da fate of Arions.Like Mr.RPK mentioned in his previous post,if Snipers lose they will still advance anyway but will giveaway their precious 2nd spot Cagers will go through,but if Cagers lose,& Arions win against Slashers which I doubt tat they will lose Arions will head through da 2nd round.Catchy ain't it?Juz a single problem.UBSA told da Sniperians tat da refs were a bit bias is it true? during da UBSA-Cagers match.Da question is,will da same thing happen to da Shoot-To-Kill team?

So Flavours,tat's da only game tat is a must-watch ayte.Eventually,all other matches are like,easy to predict,and already a confirmation.Like Group A,da rest of da top 4 have all qualified for da 2nd round,so,u do da math.Anyways,wait up for da reviews ayte.Will be hitting back soon,til' then,Word Up!!!
